This is the first time since the ‘96 (Clemson 45-0) and ‘97 (Indiana 23-6) seasons that the Tar Heels have won back to back season openers against P5 opponents. Last season the Heels beat South Carolina 24-20 and today they beat Syracuse 31-6.
