One of the best, most dominant forces in the paint, 5-star C Isaiah Stewart, released his Top 10. Georgetown, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Villanova, Michigan St., Duke, Indiana, Texas, Louisville, and Washington all made the final cut. Fans of any of these teams will be excited, as they have a chance to land a blue chip prospect and one of the best big men in the country.

Isaiah Stewart is the 8th ranked overall recruit in the country, and the #1 ranked recruit out of his home state of New York. Standing at 6’8″ 243 lbs, he is able to carve out space down low and own the lane. He averaged a double-double at 17.6 pts & 10.6 rebs per game in the Nike EYBL circuit, not to mention having 22 blocks in only 16 games. Averaging a double-double against the best prospects in the land shows you how high his potential ceiling is.
Isaiah is an absolute force and reminds us a lot of DeAndre Ayton (although Ayton was a bit taller). Stewart can score down low, as well as tenaciously defend the post. He was one of the best defenders at the USA basketball training camp. He has the ability to step out and hit a mid-range jumper. Not to mention great vision and handles, for someone his size. He’ll often grab a rebound and, keeping his eyes up the court, find the outlet man to start the fast break.
Obviously, it would be difficult to predict where Isaiah Stewart will end up this early in the recruitment process. As with almost every top ranked recruit, Duke will be a major player right up until the end. Villanova would be an interesting landing spot. They will almost certainly be in rebuild mode this year, after losing 4 players to the NBA draft. How well they bounce back could go a long ways in determining if Stewart would sign with the Wildcats.
Georgetown is starting to trend upward, especially with head coach Patrick Ewing running the show. Obviously, coach Ewing knows a thing or two about developing big men. Louisville could make a dark horse run at him, as he has built a good relationship with Cardinals’ assistant coach Luke Murray. And never count out Michigan St with head coach Tom Izzo lurking.
It will be interesting to see where Isaiah Stewart ends up. He’s one of the best prospects in the country, and the sky is the limit for his potential. We here at Pypeline will keep his recruitment closely monitored. And one thing is for sure: those 10 fan bases should be ecstatic to land on Isaiah’s list.
