Everyone assumed Kentucky had already filed a waiver for Joey Gatewood's eligibility at Kentucky. That turns out to not be true, according to a report by Josh Moore from the Herald-Leader. "A UK spokesperson on Monday told the Herald-Leader that it recently received “final information and documentation necessary to properly apply” for a waiver for Gatewood to receive immediate eligibility effective this fall. The school will file that waiver this week," Josh Moore wrote in his update from the Herald-Leader. It will probably take a month maybe more to get a decision on his eligibility. Based on what others have gotten, it seems the NCAA is granting almost everyone eligibility this offseason. Will he be eligible? I think so. Of course, if he's not eligible, Kentucky can file an appeal. I think the decision will come before the season begins of course, whenever that is.
